Today started off with beautiful blue skies, as the day progressed the cloud came in until there was, a now familiar, weather bomb, that soaked me through, again!!!!
I pitched the tent in a forest next to lake Poogandi Jarv in Mustoja Nature Park near the Estonian / Russian border. There is a covered table, fire wood and a fire pit close by.
I pitched my tent in the pouring rain, got out of my sopping gear and into some dry clothes.
Cooked some dinner and then got a fire going.
Not even the rain can stop the “ fire starter”
The rain came down in buckets but still my fire would not go out, ha!!!
After setting up my campfire last night a couple of families turned up and pitched their tents. While they were doing that I was attempting to dry my riding gear.
I stood there, by the fire, riding gear in hand, watching the steam pour from them.
After I’d dried them as much as possible I hung them up under the sheltered table.
My neighbours, particularly their kids, were quite chatty. There was no silence until after midnight.
When I awoke at 7 there was rain again. Everything I own is now moist.
I packed up and headed to the Estonian border. I’d been given a time slot of 1pm to arrive at the border. I arrived early, after a sign language chat to the woman at the booking place it looked like I was free to go to border control early.
